Pierre Beauger Vin de France White “PG15” 2015

100% Pinot Gris planted on the terrace slopes of Champeix in Montaigut Le Blanc, and ancient vineyard area that hasn't been planted with vines for centuries. Pierre Beauger revived the vineyards of the area starting in 2001. Early on, in 1992, he worked the harvest in Sonoma at Matanzas Creek Winery. The experience proved useful as he also plants Chardonnay. He farms organically and vinifies without additives and no added sulfites. This Pinot Gris was harvested with a bit of botrytis and fermented with skin contact. It's rich, powerful, and intensely flavored.
